The Chemistry of Attraction

How Much Control Do We Really Have Over Who We Are Attracted To?

You walk into the bar, and of everyone there you walk by you seem to be drawn to that one person. So many people chalk it up to the person being their "type". I don't think I have a "type" of guy I'm attracted to, the only similarity in the guys I have been interested in (which was pointed out to me by a friend) is they are confident and sensual. Don't get me wrong, looks matter, but they can be blond, brunette, tall, average, skinny, built, I have a variety of physical attributes that I find attractive.

Why are we attracted to certain people?

All of my friends have heard the legend of "LA" the boy from a million years ago that had me wrapped around his finger, we never dated, we just kind of clicked, and I could never say no to the boy. Completely unlike me. LA came to visit for a few weeks recently, and now that we're a bit more grown up I told him about how he's always had this effect on me.

LA has a theory
... Pheromones

According to LA, we are "built" for each other, so no mater what the situation we will always have this attraction to each other. And, because our attraction is so intense, someone else may catch our attention, but....
"They don't smell as good..."

Hmmmm... I hate to say it, but this actually makes sense...
